2 Year Warranty

2 Year Warranty — ROMET UK

This commercial warranty applies in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1) Who is covered

This warranty applies to bicycles purchased from an Approved ROMET Retailer or directly from romet.uk by the original purchaser (non-transferable).

2) Duration & coverage

  • Frame: 24 months against manufacturing defects (e.g., cracking).

  • Electrical components (e-bikes): 24 months — motor, controller, battery, display.

  • Non-wear components: 24 months — e.g., handlebar, stem, seatpost, headset, bottom bracket shell.

3) Annual service requirement (condition of warranty)

To maintain full warranty coverage, your bike must undergo a qualified service inspection at least once every 12 months from the date of purchase.

  • The service must be performed by a VAT-registered bike shop or a Cytech-approved technician.

  • The service must follow the checks in the owner’s manual and ROMET UK warranty requirements.

  • Proof of service (service book stamp or invoice/work order) must be retained and may be requested with any claim.

Important: Failure to carry out the required annual service may result in the warranty being refused for issues that would reasonably have been identified or prevented by proper servicing.

4) What is not covered (exclusions)

a) Normal wear & tear (examples, non-exhaustive)

Brake pads/rotors, tyres, inner tubes, chain, cassette, chainrings, derailleur jockey wheels, cables/housing, grips/tape, bearings and bushings, suspension seals/wipers, paint/decals/surface coatings.

b) Misuse / negligence / lack of maintenance

Damage from abuse, accidents, stunts/competition, improper storage/transport, failure to follow assembly/maintenance instructions, or lack of periodic servicing.

c) Incorrect assembly or unauthorised modifications

Damage caused by incorrect assembly/adjustment; use of incompatible parts; software modifications or derestriction / removal of speed limiters on e-bikes.

d) Corrosion or rust

Including damage from salt exposure or lack of cleaning/lubrication.

e) E-bike specific exclusions — water ingress

The warranty does not cover water ingress to battery, motor, controller, display or wiring, including damage from pressure-washing, submersion, or riding through deep water. If inspection identifies moisture damage suggesting water ingress, the claim may be refused.

5) How to make a claim

  • If purchased from a store: bring the bike to the Approved ROMET Retailer you bought it from.

  • If purchased online at romet.uk: contact us at info@romet.uk for guidance.

Please present the original dated proof of purchase and proof of annual service. The bike should be assembled and reasonably clean for inspection.

6) Remedies

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will provide a repair or replacement, or where that is not possible or proportionate, a refund — applying a reasonable and fair approach.

7) Parts availability

Due to product evolution/discontinuations, exact parts may be unavailable. In such cases we may supply the closest comparable current part/model. Minor cosmetic differences may occur.

8) Use & ownership limitations

This warranty is non-transferable and does not apply to bikes used for rental/sharing, commercial delivery, or other non-consumer purposes unless expressly stated.

9) Law

This warranty is governed by the laws of England & Wales.
