Delivery & Collection Policy

Effective from: 1 August 2026

This Delivery & Collection Policy applies to products purchased from:

Green Prime Development Ltd
Company number: 13662258
Registered office:
590 C Bradford Road
Batley

All bicycles offered for sale are remaining ex-display clearance bicycles. They were previously assembled and displayed in the former ROMET UK showroom and are not being sold as brand-new, unopened or factory-fresh boxed bicycles.

1. Collection – Free

Collection from our premises is available free of charge by prior appointment.

Please normally allow up to 24 hours for your bicycle to be prepared for collection. Contact us if you require an earlier collection and we will confirm whether this is possible.

We will contact you when your order is ready and arrange a suitable collection time.

You must bring:

  • your order confirmation;

  • suitable identification, where reasonably requested; and

  • the payment card used for the purchase, where required for fraud-prevention purposes.

The bicycle will not be released until full payment has cleared.

2. Collection Inspection

At collection, you will be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the bicycle before taking it away.

You should check:

  • the model and frame size;

  • the bicycle’s general condition;

  • any disclosed cosmetic marks;

  • the brakes and gears;

  • the wheels and tyres;

  • included accessories;

  • the condition of the original packaging, where supplied; and

  • for an electric bicycle, the battery, charger, keys, display and electrical assistance.

Where safe and reasonably practical, a short test ride may be permitted.

The bicycle’s ex-display status and any specifically disclosed conditions form part of its product description.

Inspection and acceptance at collection do not remove statutory rights relating to a separate fault that was not disclosed.

3. Preparation Before Collection

Before collection, we will carry out a reasonable basic check appropriate to the bicycle.

For a conventional bicycle, this may include checking:

  • brakes;

  • gears;

  • wheels;

  • tyres;

  • steering;

  • major fasteners; and

  • general operation.

For the remaining electric bicycle, this may additionally include checking:

  • electrical assistance;

  • display operation;

  • battery installation;

  • battery charging;

  • charger operation; and

  • visible electrical connections.

This is a basic pre-handover check and is not a separate warranty, service plan or promise that future servicing or adjustment will not be required.

4. UK Mainland Delivery £50

Courier delivery is currently available to eligible UK mainland addresses only.

Delivery availability and charges will be displayed during checkout or confirmed before we accept your order.

We do not currently offer standard delivery to:

  • Northern Ireland;

  • the Channel Islands;

  • the Isle of Man;

  • Scottish islands;

  • other offshore locations; or

  • destinations outside the United Kingdom.

Some remote UK mainland locations may require an additional delivery charge or may not be serviceable by our bicycle courier.

Contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether delivery is available to your postcode.

5. Delivery Times

Estimated dispatch and delivery times will be shown at checkout or confirmed after the order is placed.

Delivery times are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed delivery date in writing.

We will aim to deliver without unnecessary delay and within any period agreed with you.

Where no specific delivery period has been agreed, delivery will take place within the period required by applicable consumer law.

Orders placed during weekends or public holidays will normally begin processing on the next working day.

6. Bicycle Preparation for Courier Delivery

Bicycles were previously assembled for showroom display.

Before dispatch, the bicycle will be checked and may then be partly disassembled so that it can be packed safely within the courier packaging.

Depending on the bicycle and packaging, this may include:

  • removing the front wheel;

  • turning or removing the handlebars;

  • removing the pedals;

  • lowering or removing the seatpost; and

  • removing loose accessories.

This partial disassembly is necessary because most standard bicycle couriers cannot transport a fully assembled bicycle safely in an oversized retail box.

7. Assembly Required After Delivery

The customer may need to complete limited reassembly before riding the bicycle.

This may include:

  • fitting the front wheel;

  • correctly positioning and securing the handlebars;

  • fitting the pedals on the correct sides;

  • fitting or adjusting the saddle and seatpost; and

  • checking tyre pressure.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that all components are fitted correctly and securely before the bicycle is used.

Pedals have different left-hand and right-hand threads. Incorrect pedal installation may damage the crank arms.

If you are not competent or confident to complete the required work, the bicycle must be assembled and checked by a suitably qualified bicycle technician before use.

The bicycle must not be ridden until it has been correctly assembled and a final safety check has been completed.

8. Ex-Display Condition and Packaging

The bicycles are ex-display clearance stock and are not supplied as brand-new, unopened or factory-fresh bicycles.

They were assembled and displayed for approximately two years and may have been handled and moved within the showroom.

The original box may be:

  • opened;

  • marked;

  • reinforced;

  • damaged;

  • modified for courier transport; or

  • replaced with suitable alternative bicycle packaging.

Packaging condition does not affect the bicycle’s disclosed product condition.

Any known significant cosmetic marks, missing items or other specific conditions will be stated in the product listing or disclosed before dispatch.

9. Electric Bicycle Delivery

Only one remaining electric bicycle is included in the clearance stock.

Where that electric bicycle is delivered, the package will include the accessories specifically stated in its product description, which may include:

  • the original battery;

  • the compatible charger;

  • battery keys; and

  • the original box.

Before dispatch, we will check that the battery accepts a charge and powers the bicycle.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, no formal battery capacity, laboratory discharge or guaranteed range test will be completed.

The battery may be removed from the bicycle and packed separately within the main package where required for safe transport.

The customer must inspect the battery and charger before use and must not use either item if there are signs of significant damage.

10. Delivery Address

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

We are not responsible for delay or failed delivery caused by:

  • an incorrect or incomplete address;

  • an incorrect postcode;

  • restricted access;

  • failure to provide requested delivery information;

  • no suitable person being available to accept delivery; or

  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Contact us immediately if you notice an error in the delivery address.

We may not be able to change the address after the bicycle has been dispatched.

For fraud-prevention reasons, we may refuse to deliver to an address that differs from the verified payment or billing details.

11. Receiving the Delivery

A bicycle is a large and valuable item. You must ensure that somebody is available to receive it.

The courier may require:

  • a signature;

  • photographic proof of delivery;

  • a delivery confirmation code; or

  • another form of confirmation.

Before signing, inspect the exterior of the package where reasonably possible.

If the packaging is visibly damaged:

  1. tell the courier;

  2. ask for the delivery record to be marked as damaged;

  3. take clear photographs before opening the package;

  4. photograph the bicycle while unpacking it; and

  5. contact us as soon as possible.

Do not refuse a delivery solely because the outer packaging has minor marks. Bicycle boxes commonly acquire superficial marks during courier handling.

You may refuse delivery where there is serious visible damage suggesting that the bicycle itself may have been substantially damaged.

12. Safe-Place Deliveries

A bicycle should normally be delivered directly to a person at the delivery address.

If you instruct the courier to leave the bicycle:

  • in a nominated safe place;

  • with a neighbour;

  • outside the property; or

  • at another location selected by you,

you accept the additional risk associated with that instruction once the courier has delivered the package in accordance with it.

We may refuse a safe-place request where we consider the location unsuitable for a bicycle.

13. Risk and Responsibility for the Product

We remain responsible for the product while it is being delivered by a courier selected by us.

For consumer orders, risk normally passes to you when you, or a person nominated by you, takes physical possession of the product.

Where you independently arrange a carrier that was not offered or selected by us, different rules may apply.

Ownership of the bicycle does not pass to you until we have received cleared payment in full.

14. Checking the Bicycle After Delivery

You should unpack and inspect the bicycle as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

Check:

  • the frame and forks;

  • wheels and rims;

  • handlebars and controls;

  • brakes and gears;

  • included components;

  • loose parts inside the packaging;

  • accessories;

  • the bicycle model and size; and

  • for the electric bicycle, the battery, charger, keys and display.

Keep all packaging until you have confirmed that the bicycle and supplied components are present and have not been damaged during transport.

15. Reporting Transit Damage or Missing Items

Transit damage, an incorrect bicycle or missing components should be reported as soon as reasonably possible.

Where possible, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Early reporting allows us to investigate the issue with the courier and review the packaging before it is discarded.

Your report should include:

  • your name;

  • order number;

  • bicycle model;

  • a description of the problem;

  • photographs of the unopened package;

  • photographs of the damaged area;

  • photographs of the courier label; and

  • confirmation of any missing components.

Failure to report within 48 hours does not remove statutory consumer rights, but delayed reporting may make it more difficult to establish when and how damage occurred.

16. Failed Delivery

If delivery fails because:

  • the address provided was incorrect or incomplete;

  • nobody was available;

  • access was not possible;

  • delivery was refused without a valid reason; or

  • the customer did not follow the courier’s instructions,

the courier may return the bicycle to us.

We may require payment of the reasonable additional delivery cost before attempting delivery again.

Where a distance contract is cancelled, any refund and return costs will be handled in accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Sale and applicable consumer law.

17. Delivery Delays

Courier tracking may occasionally show delays caused by:

  • severe weather;

  • transport disruption;

  • depot congestion;

  • vehicle breakdown;

  • access problems;

  • public holidays; or

  • other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where delivery is delayed:

  1. check the tracking information supplied by the courier; and

  2. contact us at info@romet.uk if further assistance is required.

If it becomes clear that we cannot deliver within the agreed period, we will contact you and explain the available options.

Nothing in this section removes any statutory right to cancel where delivery is not made within an agreed essential deadline or within the period required by law.

18. Tracking Information

Where tracking is available, the courier will normally send tracking information by email or text message.

Tracking information may not become active until the package has been scanned at the courier’s depot.

You are responsible for monitoring tracking information and responding to reasonable courier requests concerning access or delivery arrangements.

19. Cancellation of an Online Order

Consumers purchasing online, by telephone or by email may have a statutory right to cancel the purchase within 14 days beginning on the day after the bicycle is received.

After notifying us of cancellation, the consumer normally has a further 14 days to return the product.

The detailed cancellation, return-cost and refund provisions are contained in our Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Where a non-faulty bicycle is returned following a change of mind, the customer is responsible for the direct return cost, provided this was disclosed before purchase.

We may make a lawful deduction for any reduction in value caused by handling or use beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect the bicycle.

20. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

If a product arrives:

  • faulty;

  • materially damaged;

  • incorrectly supplied;

  • unsafe; or

  • materially different from its description,

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, an appropriate remedy may include:

  • collection;

  • repair;

  • replacement;

  • price reduction; or

  • refund.

Where a valid statutory claim concerns a fault, transport damage or an incorrectly supplied product, we will bear the reasonable return or collection cost where required by law.

We may inspect the bicycle before determining the appropriate remedy.

21. Customer-Caused Damage and Incorrect Assembly

We are not responsible for damage caused after delivery by:

  • incorrect assembly;

  • fitting a pedal to the wrong crank;

  • riding before assembly is completed;

  • failure to tighten components correctly;

  • accidental damage;

  • misuse;

  • unauthorised modification;

  • use of incompatible parts;

  • use of an incompatible battery or charger;

  • failure to follow instructions; or

  • inadequate maintenance.

This does not affect responsibility for a fault, transport damage or incorrect assembly that existed when the bicycle was supplied.

22. Returns and Packaging

Where a bicycle must be returned, you must follow the return instructions supplied by us.

The bicycle should be:

  • adequately protected;

  • securely packed;

  • accompanied by all supplied components;

  • accompanied by all keys and chargers;

  • returned with supplied accessories; and

  • returned with the original packaging where it remains available.

The absence of original packaging does not automatically remove a statutory right to return a product.

However, you may be responsible for an actual reduction in value or additional damage caused by inadequate return packaging.

Do not arrange an unauthorised return before contacting us, as bicycle couriers may require specific packaging and collection arrangements.

23. No Separate Delivery Warranty

A pre-dispatch check, collection inspection or courier delivery service does not create:

  • a separate commercial warranty;

  • a two-year ROMET UK warranty;

  • a manufacturer’s warranty;

  • a free servicing agreement; or

  • an ongoing collection and repair service.

Any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

24. Contact Details

Questions concerning collection, delivery or transit damage should be sent to:

Green Prime Development

Please include your order number and bicycle model in all correspondence.

25. Legal Compliance

This policy should be read together with our:

  • Terms and Conditions of Sale;

  • Returns and Refunds provisions;

  • Privacy Policy; and

  • individual Product Condition descriptions.

Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
